The adoption of AI

“The Quebec Federation of Chambers of Commerce and the Employers' Council have simultaneously published two sets of recommendations aimed at increasing the province's productivity.” One of these: “encouraging the adoption of artificial intelligence,” source Félix Coté of Info-Bref, March 14, 2025.

Solidify your business applications before optimizing them

Let me react please! I agree, but optimizing the aerodynamics of a car that doesn't go more than 50 km/h. It seems good, in the eyes of some, but the results will be negligible, if not zero.

Let me explain: I am in favor of AI serving people and organizations, but first business applications must be “stable and efficient.”

We help our clients navigate the many business applications and promises of AI. To achieve ROI, organizations need to understand and agree on each other "on paper" before undertaking a digital transformation. However, for AI, it's the same, if not worse.

AI at the service of your organization

AI is a great complement to business applications. To achieve these goals, AI and systems must work together to deliver the experiences your organization has “consciously and collectively” decided to deliver.

I would even say that business applications are the foundation that AI must enhance. If business applications are poorly orchestrated, unbalanced, redundant, or missing in places, it is not AI or more employees that will "really" improve productivity.

I must admit that AI, without any big-picture thinking, is possible for specific tasks. But I'm already seeing SMEs starting to get scared of what their employees are producing with AI. People don't really know how to actually do the "prompts," and they don't have an AI policy in place.

Basically, I believe SMEs should not think that AI is more magical than business applications. Both require "organizational and not technical" thinking beforehand. If you are able to succeed in your digital improvement projects, adding AI will be profitable, I am convinced. Indeed, by adding AI to certain well-defined procedures and supported by appropriate business applications, your gains will be incredible.

On the other hand, adding AI to a disorganized organization will only amplify the disorder in the medium term.
